Introduction

The Embedded Systems Online CSE591 is a course that combined the CSE531 (Distributed and Multiprocessor Systems) and CSE539 (Applied Cryptography) into one Graduate class covering salient technologies of Distributed Operating Systems and Security. The topics are related and form a synergistic basis for understanding the underlying principles and technologies that is driving the computer software architectures of today.

This class, commencing March 2004, is the first offering of the course.

The course is "intense" that is a lot of new material will be covered at a fast pace.
