Assignment

Continued from Class 6:

  1. Get a used, dead consumer embedded system, such as cell phone, MP3 player, digital camera, cordless phone. If none is available to you, please contact me.
  2. Disassemble the gadget. Try not to break/destroy at first. you may get more invasive as you progress.
  3. Take pictures. Take many pictures. Take pictures in stages, as you get more invasive and destructive.
  4. Find information on the web to identify components and figure out how it works.

Do a Blog:

  1. Create an account (or blog) at http://blog.asu.edu
  2. Write a blog, to show what you did, in words and pictures.
  3. Make the blog informational and worth reading/looking at.
  4. Make sure picture files are small (resize to less than 800x600, and jpeg quality set to 60%. Any image editor (e.g. irfanview (free)) will let you do that.
